The Associated Press has finally decided to report that Obama “has crossed paths with some notable figures who have drawn scorn and scrutiny” including Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, and Rashid Khalidi.

The AP, like the rest of these media hacks, are shameless.
Of course, the media still won’t report Blago’s party affiliation (DEMOCRAT!).

The 2008 Presidential election will go down in history as providing the most uninformed electorate. The mainstream media, especially ABC, NBC, CBS, the New York Times, and the Washington Post, overwhelmingly slanted their coverage to present Obama in a positive light and downplay his connections to radical individuals and organizations such as Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, ACORN, and Saul Alinsky. To their credit, the Washington Post has admitted their bias.
Independent filmmaker John Ziegler has produced a new documentary and website entitled How Obama Got Elected. In addition to the short film, a Zogby poll was conducted. The results showed:
This is gross ignorance and irresponsibility on display. Couple that with a new study which shows kids have too much self-esteem, it’s logical to conclude that this nation is producing a bunch of uninformed, egotistical brats who aren’t thinking critically.

It is often said that one learns more through defeat than victory. Barack Obama will be the next President of the United States. It seems that the majority of Americans have chosen style over substance, but ultimately God is in control and He is still sovereign over all things.
Republicans must now realize that being a moderate or liberal Republican will not resonate with most Americans or result in votes. Conservatism must be articulated and practiced for the 2010 election and beyond. Contrary to conventional wisdom, Sarah Palin was not a drag on the McCain-Palin ticket… McCain was. McCain ran a traditional campaign while Obama had the money and the foot soldiers on the ground and in cyberspace (Facebook, Myspace, etc.) to get voters to pull the lever for him. While I admire Senator McCain’s service to our nation, his positions on global warming, immigration, and campaign finance reform irritated the GOP base and, despite Palin’s injection of enthusiasm, could not inspire most independent voters to cross the aisle for him.
This country will change, but will it change for better or for worse? That remains to be seen. Ultimately, politicians can’t make us happy and this, I fear, is the sad lesson of the 2008 election. While Obama’s words and lofty promises may have inspired millions of votes, it is his deeds that he will be judged by. May God have mercy on the United States of America.

The Drudge Report broke the story on Sunday night about an interview with now-defunct WBEZ-FM where Obama laments that the Supreme Court “never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth.” Further proof that this man is not fit to lead this nation. He doesn’t want to preserve, protect, or defend the Constitution. He seeks to shred the Constitution.

Biden is caught lying through his teeth about Obama’s connection to ACORN and even says Obama doesn’t want to spread the wealth around. Uh, Joe, that’s not what Obama told Joe the Plumber in Ohio:

As Election Day nears, it’s important to be reminded of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, two documents which our Founding Fathers brilliantly put forth as the foundations for our law and governance. Ronald Reagan said in his 1981 Inaugural Address that “we are a people that has a government, not the other way around.” It’s no accident that the first three words of the U.S. Constitution are “We the People.” The beautiful words penned by Jefferson that “we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” must be treasured not just in a history book, but in our hearts as Americans.
The states followed suit before and after the U.S. Constitution was drafted. Steve Camp wrote a post entitled “The Cross Waves Higher than the Flag.” He listed the first portions of each of the state’s constitutions. I think you’ll find that the states’ founders believed that our rights are derived from God, not from government. Unfortunately in today’s public schools, they’re being taught the opposite. As America votes on November 4, I pray that these profound lessons of history will not be forgotten.

KENTUCKY at FLORIDA: On paper, this looks like a mismatch. I’m going with the paper. Kentucky is ravaged by injuries and an inept offense. Florida continues to impress and, after a midseason shock against Ole Miss, will continue their fresh winning streak at home in the Swamp. FL 56 UK 17
GEORGIA at LSU: This could be renamed the Battle of the Best, But Struggling SEC Teams. Georgia, although putting up decent offensive numbers, have struggled with special teams. LSU’s strong defensive front will load the box to shut down Moreno and force Stafford to throw. This could work in Georgia’s favor with weapons such as A.J. Green and Massaquoi working against a depleted LSU secondary. LSU’s home field advantage in Tiger Stadium will be a factor, but the QB platoon system struggled against South Carolina. Fortunately for LSU, South Carolina’s running game was (and is) MIA. This will be a close game, but Georgia’s slight edge offensively will carry the Dawgs to a W: UGA 24 LSU 20.
ALABAMA at TENNESSEE: If it’s the last weekend in October, it’s Alabama vs. Tennessee. The Tide have been the talk of the SEC this season and face a hostile crowd at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville. Bama passed its first road test with a convincing win ‘tween the hedges, but have yet to put together a solid second half. The Vols won their first SEC game last week vs. Miss. State with the defense carrying the Big Orange to victory; however, the offense continues to struggle and with a stout Tide defense rolling into town, not even Phil Fulmer could provide a barricade. Defining Obama’s “Change”

When you ask most Obama supporters why they are supporting him, they give the standard line that “he’s for change.” When you ask those supporters to define what changes Obama will bring, they can’t define it. Dr. Thomas Sowell, one of the most brilliant conservative thinkers and economists, breaks it down for those Obama supporters:
“The magic word “change” makes specifics unnecessary. If things are going bad, some think that what is needed is blank-check ‘change.’
But history shows any number of countries in crises worse than ours, where ‘change’ turned problems into catastrophes.
In czarist Russia, for example, the economy was worse than ours is today and the First World War was going far worse for the Russians than anything we have faced in Iraq. Moreover, Russians had nothing like the rights of Americans today. So they went for ‘change.’
That ‘change’ brought on a totalitarian regime that made the czars’ despotism look like child’s play. The Communists killed more people in one year than the czars killed in more than 90 years, not counting the millions who died in a government-created famine in the 1930s.
Other despotic regimes in China, Cuba, and Iran were similarly replaced by people who promised ‘change’ that turned out to be even worse than what went before.”
The most expensive commodity that this coutry exports is ignorance. If the media won’t vet Obama like they have Joe the Plumber, they are doing a great disservice to us. We the People must inform ourselves and realize that Obama is unfit to lead this great nation.

South Carolina will take on Mississippi in a key SEC battle on Saturday. The Gamecocks must win this game. Steve Spurrier is giving Chris Smelley the starting nod, though I suspect Stephen Garcia will get significant playing time.
Ole Miss is coming off a huge win over Florida in the Swamp. Houston Nutt has revived the Rebel football fortunes in Oxford. Former USC defensive coordinator Tyrone Nix will match wits with current Gamecock defensive honcho Ellis Johnson. USC enters Saturday’s game with the top-ranked defense in the country.
If Smelley can go interception-free(and save me from pulling my hair out!) while the defense maintains their solid play, the Gamecocks will finally break their six-game SEC losing streak dating back to last season. SC 24 UM 17.

Promising Prosperity

Today, the Dow Jones Industrial average fell below 10,000 points. Global markets are panicking in spite of the $700 billion “rescue” bill Congress passed this past week.
Moments like this reveal true character. The apostle Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 6:10 that “the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.”
How we view money is a direct reflection of our character and, unfortunately, un-Biblical views of money have seeped into churches. The prosperity gospel touted by “ministers” such as Joel Osteen, T.D. Jakes, et. al promise God’s blessing for poor people giving extraordinary amounts of money to their churches. Southern Baptist Theological Seminary president Al Mohler makes an excellent point about how the prosperity gospel ultimately hurts those it claims to help:
“We are not promised economic or financial prosperity in the Gospel. We are promised what money cannot buy and poverty cannot take away.
It is also easy for non-Charismatic critics of prosperity theology to look down on those who were so susceptible to its false promises. Many devotees of prosperity theology are desperate in ways the more privileged cannot understand, and they are prey to both lenders and preachers promising prosperity.
I must wonder how many other Christians — far removed theologically from Charismatic prosperity theology — might have bought into a very different prosperity theology. Have we all been seduced by the idea that prosperity is a given? Do we now think that prosperity is our right? Do we associate prosperity with the blessings we receive in the Gospel?”

McCain Fights Back

Today, McCain finally blasts Obama on the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac meltdown. He needs to hit Sen. Obama hard on this in Tuesday’s debate and every day up to Election Day. Watch the liberal mainstream media bozos try to
whitewash this the same way they did the Obama connections to Ayres, Wright, Rezko, and all his other cronies.

“Our current economic crisis is a good case in point. What was his actual record in the years before the great economic crisis of our lifetimes?
This crisis started in our housing market in the form of subprime loans that were pushed on people who could not afford them. Bad mortgages were being backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and it was only a matter of time before a contagion of unsustainable debt began to spread. This corruption was encouraged by Democrats in Congress, and abetted by Senator Obama.
Senator Obama has accused me of opposing regulation to avert this crisis. I guess he believes if a lie is big enough and repeated often enough it will be believed. But the truth is I was the one who called at the time for tighter restrictions on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that could have helped prevent this crisis from happening in the first place.
Senator Obama was silent on the regulation of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and his Democratic allies in Congress opposed every effort to rein them in. As recently as September of last year he said that subprime loans had been, quote, “a good idea.” Well, Senator Obama, that “good idea” has now plunged this country into the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.
To hear him talk now, you’d think he’d always opposed the dangerous practices at these institutions. But there is absolutely nothing in his record to suggest he did. He was surely familiar with the people who were creating this problem. The executives of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have advised him, and he has taken their money for his campaign. He has received more money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac than any other senator in history, with the exception of the chairman of the committee overseeing them.
Did he ever talk to the executives at Fannie and Freddie about these reckless loans? Did he ever discuss with them the stronger oversight I proposed? If Senator Obama is such a champion of financial regulation, why didn’t he support these regulations that could have prevented this crisis in the first place? He won’t tell you, but you deserve an answer.”

After Sarah Palin and John McCain have been hitting Senator Obama hard on his connection with Williams Ayers and two ex-CEO’s of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (Franklin Raines and Jim Johnson), Senator Obama countered with the Keating 5 scandal that eventually exonerated McCain and former Ohio senator John Glenn, a Democrat.
NewsBusters has the audio link to talk show host Mark Levin’s interview with Bob Bennett, who was hired by the Senate Ethics Committee as Special Counsel to investigate the Keating Five. Bennett’s conclusion: “I saw nothing in my investigation that would call into question John McCain’s ethics.” By the way, Bennett is a liberal Democrat.

Thomas Sowell echoes what John McCain brought up in Tuesday’s debate: Barack Obama’s rhetoric doesn’t match his record.
Sowell notes that in Obama’s adopted hometown of Chicago, “the education situation…is one of the worst in the nation for the children– and one of the best for the unionized teachers.
Fewer than one-third of Chicago’s high-school juniors meet the statewide standards on tests. Only 6 percent of the youngsters who enter Chicago high schools become college graduates by the time they are 25 years old.
Chicago teachers are doing well. A beginning teacher, fresh out of college, earns more than the city’s median income and that can rise to more than $100,000 over the years. “
If Barack Obama sat on a foundation board with Bill Ayers to “reform” Chicago’s public education system, why do Obama’s daughters attend an elite private school? Also, guess who’s on the board of that school? None other than Michelle Obama. Senator Obama is all talk, no action. He will be an absolute disaster if elected President. WAKE UP AMERICA!!

Sarah Palin mentioned Obama’s vote against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act in a speech on Saturday in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Ironically, this was the same place where Obama said that if his daughters ever got pregnant outside of wedlock, he would not want them “punished with a baby.” The first video features testimony from Jill Stanek, a nurse at Christ Hospital in Illinois who saw the practice of taking infants born alive after botched abortion attempts and leaving them in a soiled utility room to die. The second video is an excerpt of Palin’s speech in Pennsylvania. The contrast could not be clearer.
Joe the Plumber IS America

Mainstream media can’t understand why Joe the Plumber resonates with most Americans. Like many of you, he’s sick and tired of people in the Drive-By Media, Hollywood actors, and liberal politicians like Obama saying how much America sucks. America is the hope of the modern world. As Ronald Reagan and now Sarah Palin have stated, America is the “shining city on a hill,” a beacon of freedom where inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are endowed by God and not government.
Like most Americans, Joe wants to earn more money and realize his dream of owning his own business. As he told Fox News Channel’s Neil Cavuto, “Robin Hood stole from greedy rich people and redistributed it to the peasants, so to speak, so if he’s calling us peasants, I kind of resent that… [The American Dream is] you work hard. You’re going to get what you want eventually … I just resent the government or Barack Obama’s plan to take more away from me.”
AMEN! Barack Obama has to nuance everything he says because he believes in socialism. As Joe pointed out to Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America, what’s to prevent Obama from deciding that $150,000/year or $100,000/year is considered “rich” and therefore people who earn those amounts of money have to give more of their hard-earned money in taxes? It’s the slippery slope of socialism. That is NOT what this country was founded upon. With the economy struggling, common sense tells you that you need to create wealth and a way to create wealth is to CUT taxes. Obama wants to raise capital gains, corporate, AND personal income taxes so as to “spread the wealth around.” Why should I give some of my hard-earned money to people who sit on their butt all day and wait for a check and a chunk of cheese in their mailbox? If I want to give my money to someone, that’s MY decision, NOT the government’s! It all boils down to this on Election Day: Do we want freedom or socialism? As Benjamin Franklin said, “They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

–Barack Obama does not want anyone talking about his radical associations. He’s even sought criminal prosecutions against those who have dared to speak out on issues that make him squirm. Average Americans are judged by the company they keep, and our leaders ought to be held to the same standard.
–Barack Obama gained much of his early traction by speaking out against the war in Iraq. He cites his initial opposition to the war as the crown-jewel example of his judgment on foreign affairs…after he was elected to the US Senate, Obama was faced with an actual vote on a controversial issue: The surge. John McCain and others said the strategy was the only way to salvage the war and recover from our missteps there. History has proven them correct. Obama not only opposed the surge, but actually predicted it would make matters worse. In other words, he was spectacularly wrong on his biggest foreign policy judgment call since joining the Senate.
This is an excellent summation of why Obama is not fit to lead.

The Obama Cult of Personality

America, you are about to be duped (if you haven’t already). As Barack Obama takes the oath of office today, many will revel in the historic moment. While it is historical, the level of cult-like following surrounding our new president is unprecedented. Perhaps what’s most disturbing is the fact that no one pays attention to what he says, but how he says it.
During the campaign, Barack Obama pledged to give tax cuts to 95% of Americans. Sounds good, but dig a little deeper. What about the other 5%? Those 5% are the rich and wealthy. Those 5% are the job creators, the entrepreneurs, the achievers. He will increase their taxes, thus stifling economic growth. Additionally, a huge percentage of that 95% don’t even pay taxes! How can one cut taxes from someone who doesn’t pay taxes?! It’s essentially a welfare check given to people who don’t achieve and that money is taken from those who do achieve and make a good, honest living.
Yet, I’m supposed to just shut up and bask in the warm glow of the Obama inauguration. Ironically, the same people who are telling me to be quiet are the same people who called President Bush a war criminal and other nasty things during his eight-year tenure. Do I want Obama to succeed? If he’s calling for socialism, more government bailouts, universal health care, then NO! This country was founded upon the idea that the individual has the freedom to achieve his/her God-given potential without the blatant interference of a federal bureaucracy.
Having said all that, I will respect the office of the President. The Bible commands all Christians to pray for their leaders. I will do that, but I will not go along for the sake of merely getting along. Words mean things and the Founding Fathers didn’t put their lives on the line for this nation to abandon the Constitution and the freedom which they fought and died for.
Obama’s election and pre-inaugural love fest reminds me of Living Colour’s hit song “Cult of Personality”
